Magdalena Consort recordings:

The Magdalena Consort has undertaken three recordings so far. The first, 'Recreation for the Soul', comprising three Bach cantatas, was released in 2014.

The second two form part of a series entitled 'In Chains of Gold', exploring the seventeenth-century English Consort Anthem in a new light. These were collaborations with the world-renowned viol consort, Fretwork, and the early brass ensemble His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts.

The opening disc in the series, devoted to works by Orlando Gibbons, was released in 2017 to great critical acclaim.

The second comprises music by William Byrd, Thomas Morley, John Bull, Edmund Hooper, together with some organ voluntaries by Cosyn, Bull and Byrd, played with verve by Silas Wollston on a rare copy of a contemporary Tudor instrument by Goetze & Gwynn, and will appear in 2020.
